Kerala University has decided to launch various programmes for helping encourage research activities at the university. In order to accomplish this, the university has decided to establish a post-doctoral fellowship programme for research students to engage in the science department od the university.

The University has set aside over Rs 25 lakh for the programme which is scheduled to commence from the next session of 2019-20.

The University has also announced the establishment of a committee which will comprise of retired vice-chancellors, statuary officers, and professors. The committee has been formed to encourage creative developments in the university through their ideas.

The University also launched ‘scholar in the resident programme’ which is related to UGC’s faculty programme, for which the budget has been set aside of Rs 40 lakh which got announced recently.

The University also announced a hike in a research fellowship amount by Rs 1000, followed by a hike in Ph.D. fellowship by Rs 20,000 and also the number of Ph.D. fellowships has also been increased to 40.
