The South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Education Committee Chairperson Nandini Sharma informed that it has been decided to build model schools with facilities like smart classes, nursery, computer labs, science labs, CCTV cameras, multi-Playstations, a hall for indoor games, English-medium classes, a medical room, library, ramps for physically disabled children and water coolers, along with the already inaugurated at Malviya Nagar on Tuesday by the BJP MP Manoj Tiwari.

“We will be opening more schools in phases within the next year. New schools are coming up in areas like C R Park, Raghubeer Nagar within the next month,” Sharma said, adding, “They will also be opened in areas such as Dwarka, Saket, Garhi, and Greater Kailash.”

“The cost of constructing the school was around Rs 2 crore,” Sharma said.

Due to the depleting situation the school children faced which included more than 5,000 students in 14 schools are forced to sit on floors as there no desks and benches, this decision was made.
