The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first ever Ladakh University in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Currently, the Jammu region consists of four universities namely IIT and IIMC, whereas the Kashmir region consists of three universities along with National Institute of Technology.
Addressing the inauguration, Modi informed that this university will constitute of degree colleges of Leh, Kargil, Nubra, Zanskar, Drass, and Khaltsi. The administrative offices will be located in Leh and Kargil, he said.
The University was approved by the administration of Jammu and Kashmir on December 15.
