‘The Tashkent Files’ collection: Despite ‘Avengers: Endgame’ release, the film manages to earn

Vivek Agnihotri‘s film ‘The Tashkent Files’ is showing considerable growth over the third weekend which is better than the first week. Despite reduced screen counts and show numbers, it is making satisfactory figures at the box office.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ released last week but even a bunch of superheroes could not stop the medium-budget film from earning.

With around ₹2 crores in the third weekend, the film now proudly stands with ₹9.72 crores in its account till date.

The film is based on the mysterious death of India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. The film that started slow, gained momentum over the first weekend and held strong even in its second week.

Film critic and biz analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#TheTashkentFiles braves #AvengersEndgame wave… Puts up a healthy total [on limited screens/shows]… [Week 3] Fri 45 lakhs, Sat 70 lakhs, Sun 85 lakhs. Total: ₹ 9.72 cr. India biz.”

Talking about the story of the film Vivek had earlier stated that The Tashkent Files is going to be country’s first crowd-sourced thriller. He further stated that the film will be made after doing research work on Shastriji as it will be an apolitical film about a political leader.

Vivek Agnihotri’s film aims to uncover the truth behind the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s mysterious death.

The film is produced by Pranay Chokshi, Sharad Patel, Vivek Agnihotri, and Anuya Ritesh Kudecha.
