Asus ROG Phone

Smartphone manufacturers keep pumping out newer devices every month but when it comes to software front and keeping their device up to date with the latest Android OS, they often struggle. In recent times, however, the situation is improving and OEMs are providing software updates and security patches frequently. Following the trend, Asus has announced its update plans for 2019, detailing which of its devices will be receiving the latest version of Android in the coming months.

Asus published the device on its official forum Zen Talk. The list has been published by Asus moderators which gives credibility to the news. The list is long and the smartphones mentioned in the list are expected to get Android 9.0 Pie soon. However, since its just a promise from Asus, there is a chance that not all the devices mentioned in the list will get the software update.

Among other devices, the Zenfone 5Z and the Zenfone Max Pro M2 are mentioned on the list, both of these smartphones had started receiving Android 9.0 Pie update in Beta form. The Zenfone 5Z has been officially been updated to the stable version of the OS, while the Zenfone Max Pro M2 received a Beta Build earlier this month. Asus flagship ROG phone is also mentioned on the list with a probability of getting the update.

The list includes high-end, midrange, and more affordable devices from Asus, including relatively older devices as well.
