LG gesture control system

LG is expected to hold an event at MWC 2019 next month. The company teased a new gesture control system in a video, although, apart from that nothing else was revealed. LG has now confirmed that the company will be launching a high-end device with 5G support and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The phone is also said to have a 4000 mAh battery and a vapor chamber cooling system, nevertheless, LG has not revealed anything else about the upcoming device.

The South-Korean giant has announced that it will be releasing the 5G smartphone at MWC next month. LG had planned to launch a 5G device back in August last year, additionally, the company has also partnered up with US carrier Sprint to launch a 5G enabled phone at some point in the first half of this year.

According to LG, the speed granted by 5G connectivity coupled with the performance of Qualcomm’s latest processor will enable users to have superior experience in playing games and running multiple apps simultaneously. LG has reportedly used copper for its thermal chamber which is known to have higher thermal conductivity and larger surface area for absorbing heat.

LG is also including a vapor chamber cooling system in the upcoming device to prevent heating issues when multi-tasking. LG claims that the vapor chamber design is 2.7 times more effective at heat dissipation compared to the heat pipe system that was seen on the LG V40 ThinQ.

Lastly, the 5G smartphone has been confirmed to be shipped with 4000 mAh battery and will also feature some design changes in the smartphone’s software and apps.

It is possible that LG’s upcoming smartphone is the LG G8 which is rumored to be revealed at MWC next month.
