Gearing up for the mega battle of ballots, the Communist Party of India(CPI) on Tuesday released its first lot of 7 Candidates, 3 from Mamata Banerjee’s Bastion, 2 each from Assam and Tamil Nadu. As per the statement released, the left-leaning outfit has fielded: Kanak Gogoi from Jorhat Parliamentary Seat in Assam, while Arun Kalita from North Tezpur.
In Tamil Nadu, the party has named K Subbarayan from Tiruppur Seat and M Selvaraj from Nagapattinam. The party has named Pallab Sengupta from Basirhat, Tapan Ganguly from Ghatal Lok Sabha Seat, and Biplab Bhatt from Midnapore Parliamentary Seat.

The CPI who is part of the left front in West Bengal will take on Congress who has decided to go alone in the state, TMC, and aggressive BJP. All Opposition Parties except BJP has announced candidates on some or on all seats. Congress has also declared candidates in some seats on Kerela, Assam and West Bengal
The CPI(M) is leading a left front in consists of – Communist Party of India(M), All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Communist Party of India (CPI).

General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.
The Counting of votes for the mega battle of ballots will take place on May 23, four days after last round of polling.
