Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with Union minister Smriti Irani on Friday reached Uttar Pradesh’s visited Amethi and met the family members of the BJP worker, Surendra Singh, who was shot dead last. Surendra Singh was the head of Barolia village and had an extensively campaign for Smriti Irani in Rahul Gandhi’s bastion.

Talking to media, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, ‘I had come to work in Amethi in 2014 too as a worker, I had worked with Surendra Singh for 20-22 days, I knew him very well’.

While both Sawant and Irani also met the people of the village Barolia. Barolia is among the three villages adopted by late former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar as a Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh. He adopted the villages under NDA’s flagship ‘Village Adoption’ Programme.

Sawant after meeting the family members said, ‘Singh was a devoted BJP worker and our party stands with his family’.

Talking about the villages adopted by BJP Stalwart late Manohar Parrikar, Goa CM said, If the Uttar Government wants, we can work on the development of all these villages. In the memory of Parrikar’s ji, we can work on education, health, roads, water, and other problems in this village.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was accompanied by Smriti Irani, who was on her first planned visit to her Lok Sabha constituency after defeating Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

BJP Amethi Smriti Irani is expected to stay back in Amethi for two-days where she will participate in several other events. She along with Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will also lay the foundation stone of several developmental projects in the District. She is also expected to address a couple of public meetings.

Bharatiya Janata Party Leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani in the recently held national polls wrested power from Congress President Rahul Gandhi from Gandhi family’s bastion in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi. Irani defeated Congress President Rahul Gandhi with a margin of over 55,000 votes.

Barring 1977, and 1998, Amethi before 2019 has always elected a Congress Nominee.
