Axar and Ishant added in India's standby list

ENGLAND AND WALES: After announcing the squad on Monday, chief selector of India MSK Prasad has decided to add 2 more names in Stand-by list for the upcoming world cup 2019.

Earlier, 3 names were added in that list which included Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, and Navdeep Saini. But now the list has been increased to 5 as they added 2 more names to it. These names include the veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma and Left Arm Spinner Axar Patel.

According to the BCCI official, All the 5 players are informed that they are on the standby list and they have to be ready to take the flight to England whenever needed.

Ishant Sharma, who has been in tremendous form in Red-Ball Cricket, must be very unhappy after not being selected in the World Cup squad. By looking at his bowling, he looks like an improved bowler. But he got his name in the standby list, so let’s see what destiny got for him.

Earlier, India decided to take only 3 specialist fast bowlers with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They will get some assistance from Hardik Panday and Vijay Shankar(if featured in final XI).

In the spin department, India looked well settled with the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvender Chahal, and Ravindra Jadeja. They will get some assistance from Kedhar Jadhav, who is still very difficult for some batsmen to pick. It will be interesting to see who will be the 2 main spinners among these 3 players to make it to the final XI.

And still, India added Axar Patel as the 5th standby player. As it is going to be a long tournament, you must have something extra in your bucket.
