SCOTLAND: South African born Scotland international Con de Lange, who was fighting his battle against Brain Tumor lost his life at the age of 38 years old. The misery happened on Monday.

According to some sources it has been said that Con De Lange was facing this problem from over a year. It started in the initial stage of 2017. He started missing the fixtures of World Cricket League (WCL) championships in Dubai. After some time, the reason behind this was ‘severe migraine headaches’. De Lange played his last international match for Scotland, an ODI against Papua New Guinea, on November 25, 2017. And from that time he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Con De Lange, the left arm orthodox spinner had started his career with Boland in 1998. He took 175 wickets, before moving to England to play county cricket. And finally, he made International debut for Scotland in 2015. In a career that lasted 13 ODIs and eight Twenty20 Internationals, de Lange was a popular figure in the Scotland dressing room and rose in stature to be named as the team’s vice-captain. His most famous moment for Scotland came against Zimbabwe in June 2017, when his match haul of five for 60 helped his team cause a famous upset – their first win against a full member of the ICC.

He is known for doing charity ‘Brain Tumour Charity’ with his Wife Claire.
