From the time Indian Super League started, it was observed that the participation of foreign player is slightly higher than Indian players. In the first edition of ISL 2014, teams were allowed to play with 11 foreign players. The number decreased in 2015, as only 7 were allowed in the second edition of the tournament.
Now the owners of the ISL came up the idea of having only 5 overseas players at one time. This will definitely increase the participation of Indians players. This will also help young players to showcase their talent in front of the large heterogenous audience. The more they, the better they will get as the passage of time.
