Islamabad, August 19: Pakistan, for the fifth time in the past eight consecutive days, summoned Indian High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia on Monday over alleged Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire violation by the Indian troops.

Pakistan director general for South Asia and SAARC Mohammad Faisal has summoned Ahluwalia over the alleged truce breaches along the LoC in Nagrai village that claimed the lives of at least three Pakistani military officials.

The truce violations began on Sunday from the Pakistani side. However, the Indian army has reiterated in an appropriate manner to the unprovoked firings.

New Delhi has repeatedly called on Islamabad to “respect” the arrangement reached in 2003 between the two neighbouring nations.

The summoning of the Indian HC today comes two days after the ministry of foreign affairs in Pakistan had summoned the Indian envoy over the same alleged ceasefire violation along the LoC.

The developments come at a time when Indian HC to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria, who has returned to New Delhi after the Pakistan government called on India to take back its ambassador back earlier this week in wake of scrapping of Article 370 from the Indian constitution that offered a special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
