Jhulima Mallick, a very uncommon Odisha Tribal girl won the United Nations (UN) V-Award, an award that praises the youth’s efforts for creating a better and brighter world. She was acknowledged for her efforts in promoting girl education and terminating child marriage in Odisha tribal area.
She became a hope of inspiration for other girls in the area by continuing her education. She was awarded UN V-Award by the Kiren Rijiju, the Union State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at the International Volunteer Day in New Delhi on 5th December 2019.

Jhulima Mallick comes from Bandudi Villages under the Khajuripada block of Kandhamal district where she started ‘Save the Girl’ campaign and has saved 12 girls from the claws of child marriage.
