Motorola Z3

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Moto Z3 smartphone users. The company has provided information regarding the Pie update for Moto Z3 on its official support page. The update comes with the latest Android security patch and a lot of new features.

The update will bring newer UI to the Moto Z3 which would be similar to the UI found in stock Android phones. For the changelog, Lenovo-owned company notes that the firmware update will “improve your mobile experience from the new Intuitive Navigation and Recent App.” The update also brings enhanced Do Not Disturb mode, revamped split screen and colorful settings menu.

After this update, the Moto Z3 users will be able to set battery consumption on the apps. It will enable users to turn on battery saver at 70% or below.

In terms of UI, the update will bring basic design changes such as the Pie-style Quick Settings, simplified volume controls, notifications and other minute changes. Motorola has specifically mentioned that once the device is upgraded to the Android Pie, it cannot be rolled back to the previous version of Android.

Motorola launched a 5G Moto Mod along with the device and now with the Android 9 Pie update, the support for 5G through the 5G Moto Mod is provided as well. Moto Z3 was launched last year with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box experience. The device employed a nearly stock-like UI with gesture control similar to Android 9.0 Pie.

As for the specifications of the device, the Moto Z3 comes with a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 2160 x 1080 pixels and sports an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powered by Snapdragon 835, the device comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Moto Z3 houses dual camera unit with a 12-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 sensor and 1.25micron pixel size and a secondary monochrome camera along with dual-LED flash. At the front, the device has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an 84-degree field of view.
